Chinese (traditional)Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.” Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,
for I am trusting you.
Show me where to walk,
for I give myself to you. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. To learn, you must love discipline;
it is stupid to hate correction. But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Haughtiness goes before destruction;
humility precedes honor. Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done. I will strengthen Judah and save Israel;
I will restore them because of my compassion.
It will be as though I had never rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God, who will hear their cries. So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. Hatred stirs up quarrels,
but love makes up for all offenses. For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.” I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace. He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west. But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.”Next verse!With image
