- Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
- So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless. - I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up. - But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame. - See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you. - And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
- But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me. - Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.
- Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity. - My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad indeed. - Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. - “Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.” - Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. - Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident. - I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
- You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
- Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.Next verse!With image
