An (4/4)

  • For everything there is a season,
    a time for every activity under heaven.
  • Pride leads to conflict;
    those who take advice are wise.
  • To the faithful you show yourself faithful;
    to those with integrity you show integrity.
  • Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.
  • People with integrity walk safely,
    but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.
  • Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
  • With their words, the godless destroy their friends,
    but knowledge will rescue the righteous.
  • The Lord is good,
    a strong refuge when trouble comes.
    He is close to those who trust in him.
  • Choose a good reputation over great riches;
    being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.
  • This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
  • You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
  • What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
  • Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
  • Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
  • I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
  • “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
  • Until at last the Spirit is poured out
    on us from heaven.
    Then the wilderness will become a fertile field,
    and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.
  • Search me, O God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
    Point out anything in me that offends you,
    and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
  • God places the lonely in families;
    he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
    But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
  • Hear my prayer, O Lord!
    Listen to my cries for help!
    Don’t ignore my tears.
    For I am your guest—
    a traveler passing through,
    as my ancestors were before me.
  • This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
  • If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.
  • And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
  • Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
  • For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
