- But fornication and impurity of any kind, or greed, must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints.
- Shun fornication! Every sin that a person commits is outside the body; but the fornicator sins against the body itself.
- Put to death, therefore, whatever in you is earthly: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry).
- Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - And he said, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
- But because of cases of sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God's except the Spirit of God. Though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit is on the vines;
though the produce of the olive fails
and the fields yield no food;
though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation.Next verse!With image
