- So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’
- Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. - For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. - The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters. - I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live. - He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak. - If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.
- The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
- He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. - When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.
- He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
- Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
- You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way. - The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing. - Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
- Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
- He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he. - The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
- The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights. - The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
- Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
- For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
