However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.
The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.
And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’
Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the person whom God disciplines, So do not reject the discipline of the Almighty.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless.With the faithful You show Yourself faithful; With the blameless You prove Yourself blameless.
Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent person conceals dishonor.
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.A person of too many friends comes to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, Because of the person who carries out wicked schemes.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.
He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”And He was saying, “That which comes out of the person, that is what defiles the person. For from within, out of the hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”
Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him.
Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.Do not lie to one another, since you stripped off the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created it.
The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.A rich person’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own imagination.
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
