PSALM (4/4)

Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me.
For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.For your great loving kindness reaches to the heavens, and your truth to the skies.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable.
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.My salvation and my honor is with God. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.Turn us again, Yahweh God of Armies. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, even the God who is our salvation. Selah.
