  • Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone,
    for they will surely sprout wings
    and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

    on the day of the Lord’s anger.
  • Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
  • Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.
  • Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
  • Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
    but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
  • But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
    on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.
  • For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!
  • And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
