Bible Verses about 'Scriptures that testify'
- For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

- But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

every tongue will acknowledge God.’ - Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
- But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
- Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
- However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him. - What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? - For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
- But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
- There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
- Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
- And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
- I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
- I know that my redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand on the earth. - For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
- Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
- You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
- ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’
- “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
- I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
- Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
- God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
- So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.”
- Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
- You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
- Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord. - If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
- Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
- However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
- Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
