Bible Verses about 'Scriptures that testify'
- For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

that has become the cornerstone.’ - But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
- Whoever believes in me,
as Scripture has said,
‘Streams of living water
shall flow from within him.’ - For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.” - Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
- Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
- He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
- For as it is written,
“Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,
nor has the human heart imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him.” - What is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him? - If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
- In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
- There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known.
- Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
- And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - But I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. - For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance.
- Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul.
- I have told you these things
so that my joy may be in you
and your joy may be complete. - Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged.
- Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
- He replied, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said: ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh’? And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know
that you have eternal life. - You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- Fix your thoughts on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth.
- However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. - You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
- Who indeed conquers the world
except the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God? - Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God.
- For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - Let everything that breathes
offer praise to the Lord.
Alleluia. - For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance.
- For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- I am the true vine,
and my Father is the vinegrower.
He removes every branch
that does not bear fruit,
and every branch that does
he prunes to make it bear even more. - God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - Repent, therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be wiped away.
- Everything that you do should be done in love.
- If the world hates you,
be aware that it hated me
before it hated you.
