Bible Verses about 'Scriptures that testify'
- I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

- This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

- As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
- He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bend to me,
and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’” - But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” - “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’” And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”
- But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
- But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
- As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.

“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” - You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.

But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.” Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
- What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? - Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
- The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
- And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
- This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
- Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
- I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
- So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.
- And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
- But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
and he will stand upon the earth at last. - Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.
- If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
- If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.
- I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
- Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
- For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
- I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.
- Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.
- For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
- Teach us to realize the brevity of life,
so that we may grow in wisdom. - And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
- Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.
- So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
- I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
