Bible Verses about 'Yourselves'

  • Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
  • Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
  • Wash and make yourselves clean.
    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
    stop doing wrong.
  • Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
  • Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
  • But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
  • Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.
  • Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
  • Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  • Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
  • Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
  • Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
  • Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
  • Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
  • Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
  • For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
  • Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
  • So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
  • Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
  • Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.
  • But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
  • Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
  • You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.
  • In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
  • Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
  • Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
  • Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
  • You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
  • Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
  • Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
  • This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
  • For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!
  • Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
  • And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
  • Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
  • Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
  • Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
  • Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
  • It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
  • Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
  • But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
  • Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
  • Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
  • For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
  • Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
  • Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
  • You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
  • Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
  • Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.
