- Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.”
- He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength. - For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
- The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.
- And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster. - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
