Chinese (traditional)Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines;
the labour of the olive shall fail,
and the fields shall yield no meat;
the flock shall be cut off from the fold,
and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. Arise, shine; for thy light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love. Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. With my whole heart have I sought thee:
O let me not wander from thy commandments. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. I stretch forth my hands unto thee:
my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. And even to your old age I am he;
and even to hoar hairs will I carry you:
I have made, and I will bear;
even I will carry, and will deliver you. Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
according as we hope in thee. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished:
but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich,
and he addeth no sorrow with it. Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,
to all that call upon him in truth. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.Next verse!With image
