- One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple. - All this also comes from the Lord Almighty,
whose plan is wonderful,
whose wisdom is magnificent. - Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
- For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
- Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain. - While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
- Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord—with the first of them
and with the last—I am he. - The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.
- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
- May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him. - He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
