Law (3/5)

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. This is the end of my teaching. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for that is the responsibility of everyone.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor? There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to pass judgment on a neighbor?
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another.
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain.
We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever.
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them.
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The law of the Lord is perfect, affording refreshment to the soul. The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust, imparting wisdom to the simple.
Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The precepts of the Lord are right, causing the heart to rejoice. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving light to the eyes.
Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain.
I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.I will praise you in sincerity of heart as I ponder your righteous judgments.
All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.Every word you utter is true, and all your righteous judgments are everlasting.
I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile. But now the righteousness of God that is attested by the Law and the Prophets has been manifested apart from law: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No distinction has been made.
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.I will walk in complete freedom because I have sought your commands.
If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible. When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.
Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.Your statutes are my everlasting heritage; they are the very joy of my heart.
The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, but destruction for evildoers.

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
