Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments. - He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
- But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
- Thus you shall keep my commandments and observe them: I am the Lord.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- I the Lord am your God; follow my statutes, and be careful to observe my ordinances, and hallow my sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may know that I the Lord am your God.
- And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
- You must neither add anything to what I command you nor take away anything from it, but keep the commandments of the Lord your God with which I am charging you.
- If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
- You must diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his decrees, and his statutes that he has commanded you.
- You who want to be justified by the law have cut yourselves off from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
- If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment.
- Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
- In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and your renown
are the soul's desire. - The sum of your word is truth;
and every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. - Your decrees are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - We have sinned and done wrong, acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and ordinances.
- There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor?
- The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
but destruction for evildoers. - I delight in the way of your decrees
as much as in all riches. - I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
