Bible Verses about Love (4/5)
- Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
- If you love me, keep my commands.
- We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
- As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. - And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
- The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love. - No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
- One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple. - Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
- This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
- I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
- Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me. - For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
- Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity. - Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
- ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’
- My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ.
- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love. - It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them. - Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
