- And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

- As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
- Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love. - We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
- Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
