Chinese (traditional)- There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
- I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
my whole being shall exult in my God;
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
- Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
- Do not envy the violent
and do not choose any of their ways;
for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
- You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
- The Lord is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings. - Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For just as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness. - Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. - But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
- Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
- We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the mind of the wicked is of little worth.
My soul yearns for you in the night,
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.You shall worship the Lord your God, and I will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from among you.
