- A person without self-control
is like a city with broken-down walls. - Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Christ was revealed in a human body
and vindicated by the Spirit.
He was seen by angels
and announced to the nations.
He was believed in throughout the world
and taken to heaven in glory. - For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
- Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
- What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

I helped those without hope, and they blessed me.
And I caused the widows’ hearts to sing for joy. - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

and receives favor from the Lord. - And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
- I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.
- “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
- True humility and fear of the Lord
lead to riches, honor, and long life. - That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
