Chinese (traditional)- There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death. - For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
- In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me! - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
- I will greatly rejoice in the Lord;
my soul shall exult in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation;
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Do not envy a man of violence
and do not choose any of his ways,
for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
- Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works. - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! - For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. - My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
- Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
- But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
- And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord!And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
