- A wise child makes a glad father,

but the prudent are restrained in speech. - I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.
- Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
- If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.
- You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.
- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
