- And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory. - Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
- I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
- This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

- Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
- For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.
- This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
- Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world. - But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
- Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
- Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
- Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

- For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.

- Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,

as it is in heaven. - The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher,
and he gives the farmer great wisdom. - Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”
- And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
- Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.
- Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
- Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”
- For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with him,
we will also live with him. - And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
- You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
