Chinese (traditional)So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath. Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one. You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes,
and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious,
and it does not cease to bear fruit. No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. For he satisfies the thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things. For we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it; but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one. For, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute
in the sight of God and of people. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions of them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Keep my steps steady according to your promise,
and never let iniquity have dominion over me. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. For whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth. Therefore rid yourselves of all sordidness and rank growth of wickedness, and welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them. Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
