Chinese (traditional)Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds. Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry. Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this. A fool despises a parent's instruction,
but the one who heeds admonition is prudent. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you. Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. A perverse person spreads strife,
and a whisperer separates close friends. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me
and a refuge in the day of my distress. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us. Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
but righteousness delivers from death. Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. This God—his way is perfect;
the promise of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments. Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.Next verse!With image
