If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken. Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.Next verse!With image
