But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. Who hath wrought and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:
but the Lord pondereth the hearts. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Behold, God is mine helper:
the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. I will be glad and rejoice in thee:
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts,
which is wonderful in counsel,
and excellent in working. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let thy glory be above all the earth. Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.
