Chinese (traditional)A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. For the righteous will never be moved;
they will be remembered forever. Because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. Speak out for those who cannot speak,
for the rights of all the destitute. The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. Yours, O Lord, are the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God. My child, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is clear,
enlightening the eyes. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. God gives the desolate a home to live in;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious live in a parched land. He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?
