Chinese (traditional)- And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
- For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
- We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
- Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
- Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. - Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
- I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.
- The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
- There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. - Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil. - I will walk about in freedom,
for I have sought out your precepts. - ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
- Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord.
- I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
- But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.
- If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.
- Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!
- Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes. - Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts.
Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
