- Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
- See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord—with the first of them
and with the last—I am he. - Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
- Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high,
and the desert becomes a fertile field,
and the fertile field seems like a forest. - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
- The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
- Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
- Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. - Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb,
and as everyone comes, so they depart.
They take nothing from their toil
that they can carry in their hands. - This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
- For no word from God will ever fail.
- And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
- Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
- Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.
- Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
- But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
- For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen. - But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
- And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
- From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. - Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.Next verse!With image
