So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. | You shall keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. |
But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. | Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. |
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. | Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him. |
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death. | That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death. |
The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. | Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. |
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. | Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. |
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure. |

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. | For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. |
