- I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house.
- When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.

still less is false speech to a ruler. - The heart is devious above all else;

who can understand it?
I the Lord test the mind
and search the heart,
to give to all according to their ways,
according to the fruit of their doings. - To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place: that the Messiah must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- Come to a sober and right mind, and sin no more; for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications! - “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
- Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.
- No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
- Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
- So teach us to count our days
that we may gain a wise heart. - Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
- Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.
- We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.
